The Edgar takes a short textured top, pushes it all forward, and finishes the fringe in a hard, ruler-straight line across the forehead. The sides go up high, usually a skin fade or tight taper, so the whole cut reads as a block of hair sitting above bare sides.
Who it suits
Dense, straight hair holds the sharp line best; wavy hair works if it is cut tight. Oval, square, and diamond faces suit the strong horizontal. It is a young, high-precision cut, and if your hairline is receding or your hair is fine at the front, the hard line will show it.
The straight fringe and skin fade both blur within two weeks, so expect frequent shop visits. Daily styling is minimal: push it forward and go.

A short cut with all the top hair combed forward into a dense, perfectly straight fringe, over a high skin fade or taper. It comes out of Mexican-American barbering and spread fast in the early 2020s. Think of a Caesar cut with the contrast turned all the way up.
Does an Edgar cut work with wavy hair?
It can, if the top is cropped short enough that the wave reads as texture instead of curl. The signature straight fringe line needs hair that lies flat, so barbers usually cut wavy Edgars a bit shorter and use a matte product to hold the line.
