Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
Introduction
tryon.my and the Mira app ("Hairstyle Try On Hair AI"), operated by Muntean Holding AS ("we," "our," or "us"), a Norwegian company, respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website, including how the photos you provide are processed by our AI provider.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Photos (selfies) you take or choose for hairstyle, hair colour, beard, makeup and scene try-on, and the AI-generated looks made from them
- Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
- Usage data and app interactions
- Email address and sign-in details when you create an optional account (used to back up your saved looks and, on the website, to store your credit balance and purchase history)
Automatically Collected Information
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data (app usage, crashes, performance metrics)
- IP address and general location information
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
- Technical information about your device and network connection
Face Data Collection and Processing
What Face Data We Collect
The only face data the app collects is the photograph itself and what the AI model returns for it. Specifically:
- Photos (selfies) you take with the camera or choose from your photo library, which show your face
- The AI-generated versions of those photos (your "looks") showing the hairstyle, hair colour, beard, makeup or scene you chose
- For the optional Face Shape feature: a face-shape category (oval, round, square, heart, diamond or oblong) with a short text explanation and style suggestions, returned as text by the AI model
- For the optional Improve Photo and Makeup Guide features: short text suggestions about lighting, hair, skin or makeup shades, returned as text by the AI model
- We do not run face detection or facial recognition, and we do not create, extract or store facial geometry, landmarks, templates, measurements, embeddings or any other biometric identifier
How We Use Face Data
- To render the hairstyle, hair colour, beard, makeup or scene you selected onto your own photo
- To suggest a face-shape category and matching styles when you open the Face Shape feature
- To suggest photo improvements or a makeup shade guide when you use those features
- To show your looks in the app, save them when you choose to, and let you share or download them
- Never for identification, authentication, tracking, advertising, profiling, or training our own or anyone else's models
Face Data Sharing and Storage
Third-Party Sharing: To generate a look or analysis, the app sends your photo and the style you chose to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C. and its affiliates, United States), which runs the image-generation and vision models we use. This happens only after you have agreed to it on the consent screen in the app, and only when you start a render or analysis. OpenAI processes photos under its API data-usage terms: it does not use them to train its models, it may keep them for up to 30 days for abuse and misuse monitoring, and then deletes them. No other company receives your photos. Google Firebase stores copies of your saved looks only as described under Storage Location below, and only if you sign in. Versions of the app older than 3.0 used Google Gemini as the AI provider under equivalent conditions.
Storage Location: Your current selfie and every saved look (the generated image together with the original photo) are stored on your device, inside the app's private storage. If you sign in, saved looks are additionally uploaded to your private folder in Google Firebase Storage (Google Cloud, United States) so they can be restored on another device. Processing by OpenAI takes place on OpenAI's servers in the United States. The face-shape result is cached on your device only.
Face Data Retention
- At OpenAI: up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted. Photos are not used to train OpenAI's models.
- On your device: your selfie is kept until you replace it or delete the app; saved looks are kept until you delete them or delete the app.
- In your account (only if you sign in): saved looks are kept until you delete the look or delete your account in Profile.
- Face-shape result: the category and explanation are cached on your device only and are cleared when you change your photo.
- Content reports: if you report a generated image and choose to attach it, that image is stored with the report for as long as we need to review it; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Face Data Security
- All transfers to OpenAI and Google use TLS encryption
- Photos are downscaled before upload and sent only for the request you started
- Cloud copies of saved looks live in a per-user folder that only your signed-in account can access
- No facial recognition database is created or maintained
- Face data is never used for identification, tracking or surveillance purposes
Your Control Over Face Data
- Nothing is sent to OpenAI until you tap "Agree and continue" on the consent screen; you can use the app without agreeing, but looks cannot be generated
- You choose when to take or pick a photo, and you can replace it at any time
- You can delete any saved look from My Looks; this removes it from your device and, if you are signed in, from your account
- Signed-in users can delete their account in Profile, which permanently deletes all saved looks and profile data from our servers
- You can email us at any time to request deletion of, or information about, your data
How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI-powered hairstyle, beard, makeup and scene try-on
- To improve our app's functionality and user experience
- To analyze app usage and performance through Firebase Analytics
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- To detect and prevent technical issues and security threats
- To comply with legal obligations
Firebase Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect and analyze information about how you use our app. Firebase Analytics never receives your photos. It may collect:
- App usage data (screens viewed, features used, session duration)
- Device information and technical specifications
- Crash reports and performance data
- General demographic information (age range, interests)
For more information about Firebase Analytics, please visit:https://firebase.google.com/policies/analytics
Data Storage and Security
- Photos and saved looks are stored on your device by default
- Photos are sent to OpenAI only for the render or analysis you requested, and only after you have agreed in the app
- Data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures
- Cloud data (saved looks when you sign in, analytics, crash reports) is stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share information only in these situations:
- With OpenAI (United States) for image generation and image analysis, after you have agreed on the consent screen in the app — see Face Data Sharing and Storage above for what is sent and how long OpenAI keeps it
- With Google/Firebase for sign-in, backup of your saved looks when you sign in, analytics and crash reporting
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights
- In case of a business merger, acquisition, or sale
- With your explicit consent
Your Rights and Choices
- You can decline AI processing on the consent screen; looks cannot be generated without it, but the rest of the app still works
- You can delete any saved look in the app, and signed-in users can delete their whole account in Profile
- You can opt out of analytics data collection in your device settings
- You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data
Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where OpenAI processes photos and where Google Firebase services are hosted. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers. This Privacy Policy is governed by Norwegian law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
