Side-Swept Bangs
Soft sweep · face-framing
A side-swept fringe is cut on a diagonal, shortest where it starts at the part and longer as it crosses the forehead to blend into one side. It's the softest way to cover a forehead, and it puts an asymmetric line into even a very simple haircut.

Who it suits
The diagonal is kind to round and square faces — it interrupts width without adding a horizontal edge — and it downplays a wide forehead on heart shapes. Works on straight and wavy hair. A strong cowlick on your fringe side will flip it the wrong way, so check with your stylist.
Trims every 4-6 weeks keep the sweep from becoming an eye patch. Train it with the blow-dryer aimed across the forehead, not down — it takes a minute.
Side-Swept Bangs — common questions
Are side-swept bangs dated?
The heavy 2008 version is; the current one isn't. The difference is weight and blend — today's sweep is lighter, more sheer, and melts into face-framing layers instead of sitting as a solid flap. Ask for it soft and you're safe.
Which side should side-swept bangs go?
Follow your natural part — your hair will fight any other choice within an hour. If your part sits dead center, side-swept bangs will need retraining every morning, and curtain bangs are probably the smarter shape for you.
