Boho Braids
Loose waves · free strands
Boho braids are box braids with curly or wavy strands left loose throughout — human-hair wave pieces mixed in so soft texture spills between the braids. The effect is more undone and romantic than classic box braids, closer to festival than geometry.

Who it suits
The same foundation as box braids — best on type 3 and 4 textures — with loose waves adding softness around the face, which flatters square and round shapes especially. The wavy pieces need more daily care than braids alone, so they suit people who don't mind a little morning styling.
The braids are easy; the loose waves are the work — they tangle and frizz like any curly extension and want a light mousse or oil most mornings. Plan on 4-6 weeks of wear, a bit less than classic box braids.
Boho Braids — common questions
How do you keep boho braid curls from frizzing?
Treat the loose pieces like curly hair: smooth a leave-in or curl mousse over them every morning or two, sleep in a long satin bonnet or braid the waves loosely at night, and skip heavy dry oils that attract lint. Human-hair pieces can also be re-waved with a wand on low.
How long do boho braids last?
Four to six weeks — the braids themselves could go longer, but the loose curls age faster. When the waves stay frizzy despite styling, that's the sign. Some braiders will swap tired curl pieces mid-wear to stretch the style.
