Rugged Full
Long · untamed
This is the long, natural full beard: six months or more of growth, 8 cm and beyond, with a natural cheek line and almost no sculpting. The shape comes from weight and health rather than the trimmer. What separates rugged from unkempt is care, not cutting.

Who it suits
At this length the beard replaces your jawline entirely, which rescues narrow chins on heart and diamond faces and softens a heavy square jaw. Length also hides moderate patchiness, since longer hair overlaps the gaps. Long faces should think twice, as it stretches the proportions even further.
No weekly shaping; wash two or three times a week with beard shampoo, oil daily, and work it through with a boar-bristle brush. Dust the dry, split ends with scissors every month or two.
Rugged Full — common questions
How long does it take to grow a long beard?
Beard hair averages about 1.25 cm a month, so 8 cm of visible length takes most men eight to twelve months, because the hair grows at different rates and directions across the face. Terminal length is genetic; some beards stop before others.
How do you keep a long beard from looking scraggly?
Wash it two or three times a week, oil it daily, and brush it through so the hairs train in one direction. Then dust the ends every few weeks to remove splits. Scraggly is nearly always dryness and stray ends, not length itself.
Do long beards need trimming at all?
Yes, just differently. You are not shaping so much as maintaining: removing split ends, evening out stragglers, and keeping the moustache clear of your mouth. Skipping that entirely is how a deliberate beard turns into a neglected one.
